Anti-inflammatory smoothies are packed with vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, and antioxidants. Antioxidants help combat free radicals in the body that causes cell damage, diseases, and chronic illnesses such as inflammatory conditions, cardiovascular disorders, cancers, auto immune diseases, and many other conditions. Unlike juicing, smoothies contain the pulp and fiber; it is blended in its "whole" state. Fiber is beneficial in supporting a healthy GI Tract, blood sugar, and many other health markers. Anti - inflammatory smoothies are predominantly cruciferous vegetables such as spinach, kale, and cabbage which have powerful anti-inflammatory properties. In addition, we include fiber rich flaxseeds or chia seeds which are high in omega 3; omega 3 is known to help fight inflammation in the body.
Inflammation is the body’s natural defense in response to some form of injury, illness, infection, germs, or pathogens. When the body reacts, chemicals are released in the body that prompts the immune system to fight. This “fight” result in symptoms such as pain and swelling, While acute inflammation can help the body heal, chronic inflammation can be extremely problematic and harmful because the body continues to ring the alarm for the inflammatory cells to prepare for a fight where there is no real danger.
